ARTIST STATEMENT
For me, making art is not a choice, it is a necessity. Through art I communicate my thoughts, feelings and my forever present sense of humor. Paint and collage are my means of that communication opening a dialogue with the viewer.
My voice is that of a woman who has seen changes, growth and reversals. I have experienced the ebb and flow of what society has expected, and sometimes demanded, of women over the years. Within this context, I say, "Let's look at this -- see who we are, what we've done, and most important how we feel." Mixing a fusion of representational and abstract art with a dash of whimsy, the images on this site offer my view of the female human condition.
